The View from Abroad. Republicans in Spain. James Levy James Levy, a resident of Spain for the last twenty years works in private banking and since 2005 is the Chair of RA Spain. Mr. Levy is frequently sought after the Spanish media for his political insights. Mr. Levy discusses the new Spanish conservative government that replaced the Socialist government last fall, and the economic reforms they are trying to implement...the austerity measures that provoked the ire of the Communist leader to call his party followers to "arms." Mr. Levy, commented that although it seems incredible that a European country in this day and age could still have a Communist party, one did exist in Spain... Mr. levy also speaks of the green energy experiments (solar and wind) in Spain and which failed but, surprisingly, Obama still admires and wants to replicate in the US... Mr. Levy also points to the difficult cases that Italy and Greece present, both nations soon on the verge of losing their "sovereignty... to Germany...", something that could easily happen to the US...with China. When asked about President Obama's call to "class warfare," Mr. Levy recalls President Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, that the latter would never have pulled the troops, in a hurry, from those countries just to satisfy the electorate... Is President Obama a socialist? Why is it not an adequate term to use when describing President Obama? For Mr. Levy, a socialist looks to the government for every solution and he speaks of Spain as an example and points to the failed policies of the Socialist government. mp3
The View from Abroad.Republicans in Spain. James Levy Mr. Levy is optimistic and wants to conclude on a positive noe. With regards to the attack on "religious liberty", he believes Obama has committed an "unbelievable blunder.." For him and other Americans living overseas, the US is not that far away today, thanks to the internet. In the case of voter registration, Mr. Levy notes the many state and county websites offering registration tools as well as the FVAP.gov. When asked about his counterparts, members of Democrats Abroad...he replies, that although he has counts many friends amongst them, they are "lying low," and are much more scared, finding it hard to defend the Democrat's record... mp3

Ambassador Price, who served on the Management Committee and worked closely with Governor Romney, who he says, "saved the Olympics," comments on the Olympics and the planned events. Cuba. A post-Communitst country? Ambassador John Price Ambassador John Price, who was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as Ambassador to the Islands of Seychelles, Mauritius and Comoros from 2002-2005, describes his recent visit to the Island of Cuba and relates his impressions on its people and government. Invited as part of an "educational group," Ambassador Price did not have the opportunity to meet many governmental leaders...He notes how the US is represented in Cuba, in a gated compound and calls it " less than the US deserves." For him, the "Embargo usefulness has run its course..." "Fifty three years later, at 90 miles from our shores, with a friendly populace, who love the US," the Ambassador says, that it's time to change course... mp3

Civil Disobedience. The "Rights of Conscience and Religious Liberty." Dr. Michael Reber Dr. Michael Reber, Member, Republicans Abroad Japan, author, consultant, professor and publisher of the "Bastiat Revival Blog," speaks to RAradio from Tokyo, Japan. A self-proclaimed libertarian, Dr. Reber published in his blog on February 4th, a letter in support of "Catholic Civil Disobedience," citing the First Amendment, Freedom of Religion. Dr. Reber speaks of the letter issued by the Catholic Bishops in defiance of President Obama's Health care mandate that religious institutions, (in this case, Catholic hospitals) be forced to provide contraceptives, abortion, the "day after pill," in violation of the Church's precepts and teachings! Dr. Reber speaks of the "Rights of Conscience Act" of 1973 and the Constitution, and points to the President's attack on the First Amendment, "the right to freedom of religion," with his healthcare mandate. He also mentions the latest efforts by Senators Rubio and Blunt to present HR 1179, reinforcing the "Rights of Conscience" Act. It is based on these actions by the President and his Administration that Dr. Reber calls for the impeachment of President Obama. For him, the President's actions in forcing his HC mandate on institutions and people is much worse than what then President Bill Clinton did-who, lest we forget, lied under oath. For Dr Reber, the President is "tearing up the Constitution and using veto power and so-called Executive Orders to tighten the hangman's halter of socialism around our necks." mp3
Judicial Watch. The case against Political Corruption. The guest, Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch did not have phone reception and therefore was not interviewed. C. Dillon, host of show, gave a short presentation of the mission of Judicial Watch, "a non partisan organization that seeks to promote transparency, integrity and accountability in government." In its website it lists the 10 most corrupt politicians of the moment including the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and his Attorney General Eric Holder. Cases against the president are listed, for example: Solyndra,a company, "which filed for bankruptcy in September 2011, leaving 1,100 workers without jobs and American taxpayers on the hook for $535 million, thanks to Obama's stimulous loan guaranty..."; ACORN, now re-named AHCOA (Affordable Housing Centers of America), an association to which"Obama funneled $730,000 ...;CZARS, their appointment and their unlimited powers...; SS White House Visitor's log-.Judicial Watch was successful in getting access to it;LABOR RELATIONS (AFL-CIO, SEIU, ACORN, NLRB (National Labor Relations Board that prevented Boeing from opening a 750 million non-union assembly line in SC) and last but not least, his "Chicago dealings," with Tony Rezco, sentenced to jail and Gov. Blagojevitch, also sentenced to prison ( a mere 14 years). Interesting is the fact that "the FBI continues to withhold from JW documents of its historic interview of then Senator Obama about the Illinois corruption scandal.." Also on the website, 22 questions are asked of the Presidential candidates, including President Obama. For example, would the next president, ban the funding of ACORN; will the Justice Department continue with the investigation on voter registration fraud and misconduct by ACORN; will the US Military be used to secure the border with Mexico; will the documents pertaining to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae be made public? etc. mp3
The Jewish Vote. New York. Marc Zell, Co Chairman, RA Israel Co Chairman Marc Zell speaks about RA's efforts to get out the vote in Israel, one of the largest communities of American expats. He also mentions his visit to the US and his meetings with different Republican leaders. He points to the successful campaign in New York, the seat won by Bob Turner, a Catholic who received the support of Orthodox Jews and former Mayor of NYC, Ed Koch. That "seat" was propelled into the news by the Democrat, Anthony Weiner, of twitter "exhibitionist" fame. mp3
Middle East turmoil. Israel. Marc Zell, Co Chairman, Israel Mr. Zell explains what it is like to be in the focus point of the ME, so near Iran...Its highest religious figure, the Ayatollah Khameini,as recently as last week , proclaimed, "Israel is a cancerous tumour that should be cut and will be cut." For, Mr. Zell explains that the situation is dire, a small country with only 6 million inhabitants cannot defend itself against a country that has the capability of using nuclear weapons/WMD!. And, this Administration's policies have not made things easier, quite the contrary... As published in several news sites, Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense, has exclaimed that Israel will attack Iran in April, May or June, sending, perhaps, mixed signals...as expressed by others, who insist that the Administration "is using the threat of Israeli military attack to influence Iranian behavior at the same time it positions itself to avoid any responsibility for an attack...the Dirty Harry of the Middle east!" Gabriela "Gabby" Saucedo Mercer, Republican candidate for the US House of Representatives, (Az-7), speaks to RAR why she is running against liberal Democrat Raul Grijalva. "Concerned about the direction of her adopted country," (Ms. Saucedo Mercer was born in Mexico and emigrated to the US in 1986 becoming a US Citizen in 1991), she decided to run for office because her opponent "consistently voted against the interest of businesses and families in her district." Ms. Saucedo Mercer describes Mr. Grijalva as a "progressive" and a member of the Communist Party in the US and who opposes the mining explorations in Arizona for (copper) for "environmental" reasons; an area now being used as a "drug cartel corridor." The issues that concern her the most are: socialized healthcare (as in Obamacare) and how it does not work citing Mexico as an example; Border Security, from the time of Reagan until today and the numbers in "illegal immigration, 12million, 20million-nobody knows." She cites San Diego and Duncan Hunter who had the fence built and how the passage of illegals stopped... The Ambassador speaks of the Governor's "business acumen" and points to the fact that "nobody works to pay taxes, but rather, to build something, to succeed..." He also recounts how the Governor, while at Bain capital, helped find the daughter of a Bain executive who had disappeared (in 1996) by organizing his staff and providing all the resources available to find her. If he were to advise Gov Romney, Ambassador Price would tell him to "stay on message, on target with domestic issues, and stay relaxed and be himself, enjoying the process." Ambassador Price also speaks of Obamacare and how Gov. Romney, who also believes in healthcare at "state level" has been criticized for "breaking new ground." For Romney, the Ambassador concludes, every American should have "quality" care. mp3

Mr. Price, who recently published his autobiography, a journal of his life, which begins "with his birth in Germany and his success as an entrepreneur and real estate developer in the State of Utah..." Ambassador Price speaks about what he is doing today and since the day he left office. He speaks about the 3 year task to "compile 3,000 pages of notes and journals" into a book that describes his very interesting, hard working and "adventurous" life. Recently he started writing his own blog in which he discusses current events and those pertaining to the Sub-Saharan Region he knows so well. Ambassador Price has been traveling to Africa since the 1970's, and knows the continent quite well. For him, it is of great concern, that some, in government, for example, become familiar with the golf courses in Africa, but not with the real problems affecting the villages... And cites the recent visit of certain movie stars to Somalia for an advertising campaign for the French fashion house of Louis Vuitton... Since 1991, the Region has suffered great instability and has become a "safe haven" for terrorists... audio mp3
Ambassador Price speaks of the reasons that compelled him to write his autobiography and describes his life, since arriving in the US at the age of five with his family, escaping Nazi Germany. "A traumatic experience" is how he describes traveling by a "banana" boat from Germany to the shores of Panama and a year letter entering the United States with his parents and brother and sponsored by a relative.
